Essex Leaseholds Ltd. commenced operations in 1965, and began functioning as the real estate development arm of Vollmer and Associates Contractors and Engineers in 1974. The company is a developer and constructor of commercial and industrial properties for lease. Starting with the 100,000 sq. ft. E. C. Row Expressway Industrial Mall and subsequently completing several commercial and industrial projects throughout the Windsor area, they now offer the 72,000 sq. ft. Devon Park Square as their entry into the retail market. The Devon Park Square incorporates three of their existing properties, which are being remodelled to reflect the architecture of the new 48,000 sq. ft. structure, to be erected on the adjacent property. The complex is a mixed-use facility, emphasizing retail uses due to its close proximity to the greater Devonshire Mall area, the highest traffic shopping district in Southwestern Ontario. The Companies' CEO is John E Vollmer and the properties are managed by Marwick Property Management.
